Ford Mustang Is World's Best-Selling Sports Coupe For Third Straight Year


For the third straight year, the Ford Mustang has been the top-selling sports coupe in the world, with 125,809 Mustangs sold in 2017 across 146 countries.


According to Ford, a third of the vehicle’s 2017 sales occurred in global markets. Out of the nearly 126,000 Mustangs sold, 81,866 of them were registered in the United States, with the other third registered in countries throughout the world.

Ford Motor Company released its most recent sales report for the month of March, with the Dearborn, Michigan auto manufacturer announcing sales increases in a variety of categories.

Ford Begins Taking Orders For 2019 Mustang Bullitt


Ford Motor Company is now taking orders for their 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt, an iconic vehicle that pays homage to the Highland Green 1968 Mustang GT fastback that actor Steve McQueen drove to fame in the action movie “Bullitt” half a century ago.


The 2019 model delivers an immense amount of power due to its open air Mustang Shelby GT350 intake manifold combined with an 87-millimeter throttle body and powertrain control module calibrations. These features give the 2019 Mustang Bullitt 480 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque when fueled with 93-octane fuel, according to Ford.

Ford And Mahindra To Collaborate On Vehicle Development


Near the end of March, Ford Motor Company announced that they will work with Mahindra Group to co-develop new SUVs and a small electric vehicle for Indian automobile consumers.


The two companies signed five new, non-binding memoranda of understanding (MoU) to further their joint work in developing products specifically for consumers in India and other emerging markets, according to a company press release.


The two organizations began a working relationship in in 2017.


Ford said that the two companies will work together to develop a compact SUV and an electric vehicle, while also sharing powertrain portfolios.

Ford has officially announced that the Ford 2019 Fusion sedan, a vehicle that will feature Ford’s new advanced suite of driver-assist technologies, will officially debut at the 2018 New York Auto Show.

Ford Motor Company announced their involvement in drone research in a March 7 Medium post, detailing potential uses for drones by the company and outlining their recent involvement with the Federal Aviation Administration.


Ford said that they are engaged in research to better understand where customer drone use intersects with the use of Ford vehicles.
