Ford broke its own world record for the largest number of Mustangs in a parade on Sept. 7 in celebration of the Mustang’s 55th anniversary this year.

Models from every generation of Mustang since its launch in 1964 traveled to Ford’s Lommel Proving Ground in Lommel, Belgium and took part in an uninterrupted convoy and special choreography to break the previously held record. The event attracted 1,326 Mustangs from all over Europe, compared to its last world record of 960 vehicles, set in Toluca, Mexico on December 3, 2017.

Ford’s Lommel Proving Ground, the testing facilities where sustainability, technology and driving dynamics are refined for vehicles in Europe, was the perfect location for the world record attempt considering more Mustangs are sold in Belgium per head than any other country in Europe.

Mustang was the world’s best-selling sports coupe for the fourth year in a row in 2018.
