Ford Performance and SEMA Garage Give Jay Leno’s 1968 Ford Bronco A Makeover

Craig Ferguson thought he was playing an innocent joke on Jay Leno when he blocked Leno’s parking space with a 1968 Ford Bronco. Little Did Ferguson know how sought after the 68’ Bronco model was, and car enthusiast Jay Leno was more than happy to receive the parting gift. Now years have passed, and the 1968 Ford Bronco has sat untouched in Leno’s garage until a recent collaboration between Ford Performance and SEMA Garage spurred the Bronco’s modification dreams to come true.

Ford Performance and SEMA Garage recruited the best in the business to restore and upgrade Leno’s 1968 Bronco. They collaborated with the likes of Kincer Chassis, who built the Bronco’s chassis and installed the powertrain, which included the 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine from the Shelby GT500, and Dennis Carpenter who supplied the Bronco’s body panels. SEMA Garage seamlessly integrated their computer-aided design, 3D printing, and calibration work. The Bronco’s final stages were handled by LGE-CTS Motorsports, an award winning and women-owned shop. LGE-CTS Motorsports supplied the 68’ Bronco with new sheet metal, custom body mods, and a paint job, making it display-ready.

“Bronco was an iconic vehicle that was many things to many people,” said Leno. “The Bronco was bought to use on the farm or to take your date to the prom and was comfortable in any of these environments. The idea of having a classic Bronco upgraded with modern handling, performance and braking really makes it the best of both worlds.”

Leno’s fully remodeled 1968 Ford Bronco was on display at the 2019 SEMA show November 5-8th. Didn’t see it? Leno’s Bronco will also appear on an upcoming episode of Jay Leno’s Garage on CNBC. It will also be shown in detail on Jay Leno’s Garage on YouTube.
