The Luxurious Ford F-150 Limited Is Getting An EcoBoost V6 Engine

Ford’s newest F-150 pickup, the 2019 Ford F-150 Limited, will combine massive amounts of power with luxury thanks to the addition of a new 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine.

The F-150 Limited, Ford’s most upscale pickup truck, will be getting an engine that matches the power of the Ford F-150 Raptor to deliver 450 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque, making it the most powerful light-duty pickup truck in the United States.

Todd Eckert, the marketing manager of Ford’s truck group, said that the addition of the V6 engine creates a balance of style and toughness in the 2019 Ford F-150 Limited.

“F-150 Limited customers create their own success. The truck is their reward,” Eckert said in a statement. “They wanted more power, so we combined Raptor’s engine with Limited’s business-class features to deliver Baja fierceness, boardroom style and the grit to tackle tough jobs.”

That even distribution of grit and luxury is also exhibited in the truck’s interior, with a cabin that is as opulent as it is durable.

The interior features a Miko® suede headliner and leather-topped instrument and door panels. The F-150 Limited is also home to ash swirl trim, Camel Back two-tone leather upholstery and multicontour front seats with Active Motion, the latter of which provides passengers with lumbar support and a nice massage.

“It was important for us to get this interior just right as we continue to raise the bar for premium pickup trucks,” said Aileen Barraza, Ford’s color and materials manager. “The materials we chose to incorporate are authentic, distinctive and durable.”

Barraza pointed to the wooden trim as a component that sets the vehicle apart from other pickups.

“The gradated ash swirl trim is like something you see in a fine instrument,” she said. “Each piece is hand-finished, and a halo around the edges with a heavily polished center really brings out the natural beauty of this wood.”

Ford says every facet of the truck’s interior has been examined with great detail, from the heated steering wheel to the holes in the F-150 Limited’s microperforated leather.

The F-150 Limited doesn’t lack on technology, either. The powerful pickup comes standard with an integrated trailer brake controller and a 350-degree camera with a split-view display and a dynamic hitch assist to making hitching to the F-150 Limited easier.

The truck also has many of Ford’s driver-assist technology features like standard adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking and a lane-keeping system.

The 2019 Ford F-150 Limited will be available in showrooms later in the year.
