Ford To Provide Driving Instruction For Women In Saudi Arabia


Ford Motor Company will hold an event in March designed to help women build driver confidence and safe driving practices in Saudi Arabia, the company announced in a February press release.


Ford will be bringing its Driving Skills for Life program—a program originally designed to improve the driving skills of newly-licensed teenagers—to Saudi Arabia on March 5-8 following a royal decree in 2017 that lifted the ban on women obtaining driver’s licenses in the country. Driving Skills For Life For Her will be held in conjunction with Effat University at the university’s Jeddah campus.

Ford Increases Production For 2 SUVs After High Demand


Ford Motor Company announced in mid-February that they are increasing production for two all-new SUVs due to increased demand from customers. The company added $25 million in investment to its Kentucky truck plant to increase the production of the 2018 Ford Expedition and the 2018 Lincoln Navigator.


The investment will cover advanced manufacturing technologies and an upskilled workforce to increase line speed at the company’s Kentucky plant. According to a press release from Ford, the company is boosting production targets by around 25 percent since the fall of 2017.

Ford's Vehicle Subscription Service Sees Growth


The Ford Motor Company’s subscription-based car service, Canvas, celebrated growth in its  first year with executives hoping for continued opportunities to expand into a new option for drivers. The Canvas program prides itself on offering flexibility to customers, giving drivers a new option to traditional car ownership.


Subscribers to Canvas pay a bundled monthly subscription fee that covers a preferred mileage package, comprehensive insurance, warranty, maintenance and roadside assistance. Subscribers have full access to a vehicle, just as if they owned the automobile.

Ford Continues To Help Students Achieve Success


The philanthropic arm of Ford Motor Company announced they were expanding their efforts to help students from across the world achieve academic success, with the company announcing at the end of January that they are expanding their efforts to include Mexico.


Ford Driving Dreams, the educational program created by the Ford Motor Company Fund, is designed to aid Hispanic youth. The Ford Fund announced the expansion into Mexico in a press release on Jan. 23.
